Turkish Citizenship Program:

In January 2017, Turkish government announced its citizenship-by-investment program, a program which allows qalified investors to acquire citizenship of Turkey by way of Investment. On 18 September, 2018 the respective law was amended, thereby, reducing the investment requirements in order to make the program attractive for the investors. Investors can choose one of the following investment options in order to qualify for citizenship in Turkey:

  • Investment of USD 250,000, or equivalent in Turkish Lira, in real estate for a period of three (3) years;

  • Fixed deposit of USD 500,000, or equivalent in Turkish Liras, in the banks operating in Turkey for a period of three (3) years;

  • Capital investment of USD 500,000, or equivalent in Turkish Lira;

  • Purchase of State Debt Instruments of USD 500,000, or equivalent, to be kept for a period of three (3) years;

  • Creation of Employment for at least fifty (50) people.

Real estate investment is, usually, preferred by most investors. In 2019, number of houses sold to foreigners in Turkey stood at 45,967, an increase of 14.7% compared to 2018.  As of now, Turkish passport affords visa-free access to approximately 110 countries and territories.
